March 2025 was a busy month for BLUFSF as we hosted not one but TWO events in San Francisco and in Sacramento for what may be the first time. Below is a recap and photos from each of the events.
BLUFSF HARD: March Edition
March saw the return of Master Ghee Phua for what would be his steps-down hosting gig after serving as Organizer for the past few years. He was unable to host in February due to illness but returned in fine form to close out his era of service.
Along with Calder Storm, they hosted the night’s events meeting and greeting folx familiar and new.
The San Francisco night was soupy as BLUFSF shared the SF Eagle’s patio space with the Bay Area Cigar Buddies and ASHHOLE, a night dubbed XL by the Eagle. Huddled beneath the overhang and under the heaters, it was a cozy night of Leather and ash.
The Bootblack on duty was Forest who notified us that he would be bootblacking for the night for the the foreseeable future. So, next month, Forest will be at the chair ready to show your gear some TLC. Be sure to tip generously!
BLUF NIGHT @ THE bOLT
For what may be the first time, BLUFSF collaborated with the current Mr. Bolt to host a BLUF night at the Bolt Bar in Sacramento, CA.
Mr. Bolt Leather 2025 and new BLUF member (#1668) Colin Gallagher, Sir Aaron Wolf (#3341), and John Kouletsis (#397) along with volunteers came together to host a successful night. John graciously volunteered to take photos and Sir Wolf sourced a box of cigars for those interested.
Bootblacks Mary Rose and boy Zander co-manned the bootblacking chair providing care and conditioning to the night’s patrons. It was heartening to see folx stepping up for service throughout the whole night.
The night was meant to support Mr. Bolt and gauge interest for future Sacramento-centered events. Based on the success and feedback of patrons, future BLUFSF events in Sacramento are very likely.
